An Angel And A Butterfly
There was a little angel
Who liked to fly all day,
She wanted to see the world
She was always very gay
In a park not far from heaven
She searched among the birds and bees
She thought them very beautiful
But not for her, you see
An owl was flying in the trees
As graceful as can be
This little angel shook her head
And he flew on past the trees
The little angel was giving up all hope
Until there before her eyes
A butterfly with colored wings
Flying in the clouds went by
It touched her cheek, so soft
And this little angel smiled
She asked the butterfly to sing
Of all the beauty of the world
And of parks where she had been
This little angel and the butterfly
Made people everywhere to sing
I have seen them myself
And all the joy they delight to bring
So if you see an angel
With a beautiful butterfly
Thank God who made the earth
With everything we see
Beauty in all nature
Is the greatest wonder for me.
