As I Light A Candle

You came into my life
When I had no where to go
I was down and broken hearted
On a path I did not know.

When you're alone and empty-hearted
All your troubles seem to compound
But these burdens that I have carried
Have eased since it's you I have found.
You have shown me how to handle
How to turn my life around
With the light of just one candle
All this glory that I have found.

Can I ask you to take my burdens?
Bless my house and family too
And with the light of this one candle
Is there more I can ask of you?
Please keep my friends safe from harm
And help them with their needs
Protect our troops in foreign lands
Carry them 'til we succeed.

As I light just one more candle
I will pray to you above
Thank you Lord for blessing me
With these things I dearly love.
