Guardian Angel
In this lifetime, you gave me all you had to give
And I never doubted for one moment
Just how much you cared
And through all the pain, you put a smile upon my face
I wouldn't change it if I could
For you showed me God's grace
You were my guardian angel, my best friend
You gave me all your love until the very end
Now the Lord has come and taken me with Him
And it's my turn to be
Your guardian angel, your best friend
In this lifetime, you did all that you could do
And I was oh so blessed to have a mother like you
Though a tear may fall with every memory
Just know that I'm in heaven now
And I'm the angel you made me
You were my guardian angel, my best friend
You gave me all your love until the very end
Now the Lord has come and taken me with Him
And it's my turn to be
Your guardian angel, your best friend
It's my turn to be
Your guardian angel, your best friend

Guardian Angel was written for a dear friend of
mine, Michelle, who lost her daughter to a rare
disease at the very young age of 4 years. Her
name was Helen and she was born with this rare
disease and basically sent home to die. Though
Helen needed 24-hour nurses and many hospital
visits, Michelle was so blessed to have her
little bear (as Michelle would call her) for
4 years. This song came to me through, HIM, as
Helen was determined to let her mother know
what a wonderful experience it was, in spite
of how it seemed, being her daughter for that
very brief moment in time and how delighted
she was to now be able to return the blessing
from above. So, Michelle, I would like to
dedicate this song to you.
