I sit and watch my liquid amber tree
Its splendor, wondrous form
God's beauty overwhelming
The color I adore
Rich, green and golden tones
Burgundy, maroon,
Red, plum and tangerine
Aesthetically it soothes
The limbs are all divinely
Shaped in balance, size
Each leaf clinging to a tiny stem
I gaze and softly sigh
A little bird alights so gently
And sweetly sings to me
God gave him perfect branches
Where safely he can be
Each leaf is twirling past him
One by one they fall
A carpet on the grass
I couldn't ask for more
Except I wish that you
Were sitting here with me
So you could share the beauty
Of my wondrous autumn tree.
