I saw a little butterfly
I saw a little butterfly
Hiding in a tree
She was so very pretty
She reminded me of me
I need a friend to listen
To everything inside my heart
I, also hide at times
Holding back a butterfly in flight
I saw a little butterfly
Graceful as can be
With beautiful colors
That reminded me of me
I need a friend to help me smile
Someone to show me love
For I too have a beauty
In the Lord's life above
I saw a little butterfly
Flying in the air
The Lord gave it such freedom
She is off, without a care
I saw a little butterfly
flying in adventure of her own
She reminds me of myself
Her wings are now my own.

Do you remember me The people's poet
How does one become a butterfly, she asked pensively?
'You must want to fly so much that you are
willing to give up being a caterpillar."
