There are times, most drastic times
When we can feel quite all alone,
Left clinging to life's rope
With no-where to call home.

We glance about so wary, wondering
Where a heart can ever turn,
Seeking, longing for a hand to hold
Bottling up concern.



Stranded cold upon life's byway, burning
Where harsh heat will never cease,
For a day will never pause for us
While craving for some ease.

How can we travel on and on
Existing in this way.....
How will each morning bring
The breath to breathe another day.



We grapple in the darkness
Turning to and fro,
Asking for the answers
For questions all unknown.

Suddenly, in crying for a miracle
There falls amazing peace,
Like a secret touch of heaven
Comes a hand of soft reprieve.



Then, we find believing, wondrous
This tender, strengthening lift,
Oh, our eyes fill up with tears
For the blessing of such gift.

Arriving from an unknown source
A surprise from heights beyond,
Beyond the ways of knowing
For us to gently rest upon.



But, somehow we can stand again
Lift high our eyes to walk,
Supported by a mighty power
New life of mystery borne.

Our dear Father comes to us
At just the perfect time,
When we grasp He is the source alone
Of all that is divine.



Thank You, precious Saviour, Lord
For all that You impart,
As the strength for every step...
The joy within our heart.
