Crowded elevators
Busy streets
Bumper to bumper traffic
All is concrete.

Noise is deafening
Smog is thick
No peace and quiet
All is too quick.

Life in the city
Is not for me
I want a slow pace
I want to feel free.

Give me a small town
Now that's the life
Free from stress
And free from strife.

The smell of the country
Fills my lungs
The way it was before
When I was so young.

No paved roads
Just gravel and dirt
I tell you these things
For what it's worth.

Time has no essence
It is slow
Out in the country
Is where I want to go.

No honking horns
No ringing phones
A cottage in the country
Is what I'll call 'home'.

So take me away
Let's escape
Out to the country
By a beautiful lake.
