Cry For Dependence
We honor the faith of pioneer spirit,
And admire their stubborn toil
We wonder at the raw courage born
To conquer this rugged soil.
God's faithfullness was put to the test
Believing He would bless,
As they sailed in faith for all they would find
He poured forth His best.
We wonder and praise their mighty spirit
To scatter and own a land of heart,
To fill it with God's Words of light
They kept upon His path.
Oh give us their soul, their simple delight
In all that is worthy of goodness and kind,
Please give us dear Father of all
Your perfect will and mind.
Cleanse our cold hearts, make us a-new
Forgive us our grievous sin,
From independence we turn aside
To know the blessing we have seen.
Take of our country, its power and glory
And fill us with all that You will,
Of Your ways and Your peace we cry today
As before You... we are still.

Derry's Heart Poems © 2005
For ye have need of patience, that,
after ye have done the will of God,
ye might receive the promise.
Thank God for what you have,
TRUST GOD for what you need.
Do all the good you can,
by all the means you can,
in all the ways you can,
in all the places you can,
to all the people you can,
as long as ever you can.
