The First CHRISTmas
Away in the manger, in
A new little baby was born
God sent his only Son Jesus to earth
A new day was ready to dawn,
The angels sang in the Heavens
A star shone so bright in the sky,
The shepherds left their sheep and ran
To see this wonder on high.
There was a light all around the manger
And it could be seen for miles,
The wise men arrived bearing gifts
Gold, frankincense and myrrh so fine,
Just as the gifts we give today
Are to honor the Lord Jesus' birthday.
If I was born then and looked upon such beauty
The baby Jesus would have smiled at me,
I may not have a gift of my own
I would offer my heart to Him
For He is love alone.
There was much joy and gladness
When Mary had an angel come,
To tell her she had a pure heart
That God wanted her to bear His Holy Son,
The shepherds and wise men came
For they knew it was special for all
To celebrate the Lord Jesus, as God in human form.
The Lord, full of The Holy Spirit, a blessed man, pure in His
Like no other, before Him or after,
Joseph brought Jesus up as if He was His own
Jesus had great respect for His step-father
And His loving home.
We would never have our sins taken away,
The little baby Jesus would have smiled at me
I can see his smile when I am sad
And on Christmas day
He never leaves my side,
He is goodness and I follow His light
I look at the first Christmas as the miracle of new life.
I do not ask for gifts this Christmas,
I pray for peace on earth and may it begin with me,
I feel very special in Jesus eyes
I feel His love continually,
Let us remember the first Christmas
And care about the things Jesus wanted us to feel,
Touch, hold, kiss and forever grateful be.
