I came so close to visit
Taptap upon your door
My presence near as ever
My spirit heard you call



I came so close I whispered
Calling softly, are you home
Waiting on the doorstep
So you wouldn't feel alone



I came as your forever friend
And couldn't go away
There upon your little step
So tenderly to pray



I came to be your prayerful friend
For that's what I can do
In the knowing of your need
To always pray for you
