When I needed someone,
a caring friend
to hold onto my hand,
you came, just when I most needed
someone near to understand
You came, to give me hope,
everlasting,
when skies loomed bleak and dark,
and the sun refused to shine
you came, with hope to lift my heart.
You hugged me, not with arms
maybe, but in a deeper sense
you comforted me with everlasting words
that blanketed my soul
with warmth of greater worth.
God brought you somehow
just when I prayed for one this day,
with eyes of love and understanding
and a kind embracing care
when my strength e'er ebbed away.
And I realized I am not alone,
you showed me how, along life's path,
God's light is ever shining,
there is hope, there is joy...
Oh, I thank Him for your caring heart.

Poetry From The Heart
I drank the cup of love you shared
a cup of everlasting care,
Then how I thanked my God for You,
for I realised He was there.
How could this clear fresh beauty
be so real for me to see,
Oh, truth divine
How could God's love I find..
But through you my special friend
when you showed me
how His life could now be mine.
