For God is always God,
Though trouble is our lot
And normality is robbed.
Be still for God is God
He knows what He's about,
There is a plan unfolding
In all He has allowed.
Be still for God is God
He'll guide us to the end,
If we but hush and listen
And seek to comprehend.
Be still for God is God
Even when it's hard to trust,
And hopes and dreams and plans
All crumble into dust.
Be still for God is God
Wait patiently today,
Believe that He is love
And keep safe within His way.
Be still for God is God
The Lord is very near,
To those whose hearts are broken
And filled with dread and fear.
Be still for God is God
He will deliver soon,
He saves those crushed in spirit
And makes His promise true.
Be still for God is God
He is our help and shield,
Though tears may be our food
And all seems so surreal.
Be still for God is God
He says we must not fret,
It's only by delighting in The Lord
Our needs will all be met.
