Golden Years

Oh Lord, I think the golden years
Have been my very best,
For all throughout my youthful life
I was put through many tests.

My heart now has a yearning
As it never had before
To see your hand in everything
And to want you more and more.

Why did I have to wait so long
To walk the narrow road
And to be so filled with love for you
That I fear I might explode?

Oh Lord, Your love is awesome,
It lifts me to a higher plane.
Please let me live these golden years
Giving praise to your holy name.
