One thing I ask, Lord,
One thing I desire,
One thing burns in my heart
As an eternal fire:
To dwell in Your house
All of my days,
To gaze upon Your beauty
In Your temple always,
To bask in Your brilliance,
To rejoice in Your light,
To sing of Your glory,
To proclaim Your might,
To dance in Your presence,
To exalt Your name,
To marvel how Your love
Leaves nothing the same.
Yes, this I ask of You,
This is my request:
To dwell in Your house,
For then I am blessed.
With love and gratitude,
With joy and adoration,
With song and psalm,
I sing of Your salvation.
I shall dwell with You
All of my days,
Gazing upon Your beauty
In Your temple always.
For Your Spirit glows
In my heart as a fire
You, My Lord Jesus,
Are all that I desire!
