Jesus was faint with steps so slow
The journey to the cross, He did go
His flesh was beaten, blow upon blow
And the people stood by watching the show.
Jesus tired and weary toiled on to Calvary
They ridiculed and hounded Him with glee
With a heavy crown of thorns on His head
The journey to the cross He tread.
Three crosses stood side by side
On the middle cross Jesus was crucified
The journey to the cross, many tears did flow
On that day two thousand years ago.
