These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer;
I have overcome the world.
John 16:33

Redemption Love

It was love why Jesus took my beating
As he stayed upon the cruel cross,
His precious blood was shed that day,
To save my soul, and take my sin away.

Jesus prayed, not my will but thine be done
As He knew His time was come,
And on that dogwood tree that day,
He said, Father forgive, forgive them today.

He bore my shame on Calvary
The sinless one, He set men free,
Someday He'll come and take us home,
We'll sit together around His throne.

Oh, such love to lay down His crown for me
So we could live and enjoy life peacefully,
Jesus redeemed us all from our sin,
So we could love, a new life begin.

He could have called ten thousand angels
But in love, He stayed on the cross,
It is by His stripes we are healed,
He died that none should not be lost.

We have to move closer to the cross
Live for Jesus and faithful be,
Someday He'll return and claim His bride,
Stay close to the cross, what'er betide!

he that believeth in me, though he were dead,
yet shall he live:
