On Your Memorial Day
I think of your memorial day
A never-ending day, subdued
Immersed in memory and thought
That means so much to you
I send to you my love and prayer
For the anguish felt this day
The remembrance of beloved
That will forever stay
Mingled with the pride you feel
Of each, who sought to give
Their all, their future plans, their life
For us to freely live
Not one we lost, is e'er forgot
No words to say e'er be enough-
Gratitude made speechless
In the face of dying love
How can we bear the memory
What grief is the re-call
How silent screams the looming hush
That hovers over all
God bless you very deeply
on this-the day-we weep
