On the loss of our dear Pastor
Our gift to him this day
Is to give encouragement to others
Like he would always say
In our way to say 'thank you'
For all the years of care
For, that was him, so naturally
The Lord's great love to share
Reaching out with kind compassion
In all that he would do
As he shared the words of God
In His calling to be true
We're so grateful for the moments
And thank God for the days
Of his sacrificial giving
In many special ways
We're sad, yet know we're blessed
As we praise God for the life
Of our dear and Godly Pastor,
Who we're missing every day

Poerty from the Heart
These large birds, who fly great distances across continents,
have three remarkable qualities. First, they rotate leadership.
No one bird stays out in front all the time.
Second, they choose leaders
who can handle turbulence.
And then, all during the time one bird is leading,
the rest are honking their affirmation.
Certainly we need leaders who can handle turbulence
and who are aware that leadership ought to be shared.
But most of all, we need a church where all are honking encouragement.
