The danger I meet as I walk this earthly sod
I do not fear because my defense is God
A guiding loving Father walking beside me
I feel He is there although Him I cannot see.



He gives me the courage that I need
To overcome my every fear
And will grant me His understanding
My every prayer He does hear.



My God, is all wise and powerful
Salvation for me is His game
Though this old world is changeable
My defense is God, and remains the same.



God is in control of my heart and soul
My life He always holds in His hand
He is my only hope of peace
My defense is God, with Him I stand.



I give God thanks for everything
Looking up my eyes seeking His face
The battle is His, the victory is mine
My defense is God, and I will win the race.
