I have a special friend, who stays with me always.
He never tries to leave my side.
He hovers near and watches me and keeps me ever safe.
He is my special friend and earthly guide

I know when I am lonely, that He will be right here
Beside me as I live my daily life
And if I falter He will lift me, brush the dust away
And help me rise above all life's strife
You see, He is my saviour, the lover of my soul
He now takes refuge right outside my door
He keeps the shadows of the world from entering
He gives me love, peace, joy, comfort and more
He walks with me, talks with me...helps day and night
He is my saviour, lover of my soul
He is my earthly angel, watches o're my home
Yes, Jesus is always near and keeps me whole
