The Sea Of Life

I never knew God's love before
In the way I know His love now
I did not know I needed Him
My foolish heart did not allow.

Thinking I had it all, without a care
I was living a self sufficient lie
The sea I sailed was smooth and still
No clouds in the lovely blue sky..

Suddenly the sea grew rough and dark
And my ship built with foolish pride
In angry rolling waves broke apart
Leaving me no place in which to hide.

I felt God's loving arms around me
Giving me strength, He helped me stand
God was my anchor as I faced this storm
Standing beside me holding my hand.

Now I know my God as never before
Feeling His loving grace and mercy for me
Now that my foolish pride is gone
I know this is how God meant to be.

I was blind and I see as never before
How marvelous God's love can be
He worked it all out for my own good
Sending Jesus Christ to care for me.
