Silently the flakes fill the sky
And make their journey below
Children watch in fascination
Anticipating the winters' snow.
The brisk, cold air is on the way
Warm jackets are on hand
Beds are laden with blankets
Hot Chocolate is in demand.
Autumn is gone and summer forgotten
As we prepare for ice, wind, and sleet
But, oh how we marvel at the sight
Of those snowflakes at our feet.
We could travel the world, see lovely sights
Look for the spectacular high and low
But simply nothing could compare
With the stillness of the snow.
