"Plan Of Salvation."

Plan of Salvation

1. We must HEAR the WORD:
John 1:1 ~ In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD
was with God; and the WORD was God.

Romans 10:17 ~ So faith comes from HEARING and HEARING by the WORD of GOD.

Hebrews 10:25 ~ not forsaking the assembling of ourselves, as is the
manner of some, but exhorting one another and so much more as you see
the Day approaching.

2. We must BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died for our sins:
John 3:16 ~ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whosoever BELIEVES in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 8:24 ~ Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if
you do not BELIEVE that I am He, you will die in your sins.

Hebrews 11:6 ~ But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to
God must BELIEVE that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

3. We must REPENT of our sins:
Luke 13:2-3 ~ And Jesus said to them, "Do you suppose that these Galileans
were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this fate?
I tell you, no, but unless you REPENT, you will all likewise perish.

Acts 17:30 ~ Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance,
God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should REPENT.

2 Corinthians 7:10 ~ For the sorrow that is according to the will of
God produces a REPENTANCE without regret, leading to salvation,
but the sorrow of the world produces death.

4. We must CONFESS that Jesus Christ is Lord:
Matthew 10:32-33 ~ Therefore everyone who CONFESSES Me before men, I will
also CONFESS him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me
before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

Romans 10:9-10 ~ that if you CONFESS with your mouth Jesus as Lord,
and BELIEVE in your heart that God raised Him from the dead,
you will be saved; for with the heart a person BELIEVES, resulting in
righteousness, and with the mouth, he CONFESSES, resulting in salvation.

Acts 8:37 ~ And Phillip said, "If you BELIEVE with all your heart, you may."
And he answered and said,"I BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is the Son of God."

5. You must be BAPTIZED to wash away your sins:
Acts 8:35-39 ~ Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this
scripture, he preached Jesus to him. As they went along the road
they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "Look! Water! "What
prevents me from being BAPTIZED?" And Philip said, "If you BELIEVE
with all your heart, you may." And he answered and said, "I BELIEVE
that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." And he ordered the chariot to
stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as
the eunuch, and he BAPTIZED him.
When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip
away, and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing.

Mark 16:15-16 ~ And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel
to all creation." He who has BELIEVED and has been BAPTIZED shall be saved;
but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

Acts 2:38-41 ~ Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be BAPTIZED in the name
of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift
of the Holy Spirit." So then, those who had received his word were BAPTIZED, and
that day there were added about three thousand souls.

Romans 6:3-4 ~ Or do you not know that all of us who have been BAPTIZED into
Christ Jesus have been BAPTIZED into His death? Therefore we have been buried
with Him through BAPTISM into death, so that as Christ was raised from the
dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

1 Peter 3:21 ~ Corresponding to that, BAPTISM now saves you-not the removal
of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience-
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Acts 22:16 ~ Now why do you delay? Get up and be BAPTIZED and wash away your
sins, calling on His name.

It is interesting to note that each time the gospel truth was preached to a person
or a group of people, a response to that truth was in order. The above points,
along with the scriptures, are in response to the invitation Jesus extends when He says,
Come unto Me.... (Matthew 11:28-30) But we must respond to Him on His terms, not our own.

The majority of people think everyone will go to heaven, but when you
read the following two passages, Jesus tells us that not everyone will be
accepted. Our God is a loving God and does not want anyone to perish, but
like any good father, He has given us rules to go by and He expects
us to abide by them, or we face the consequences.
These two passages appear in Matthew 7.

Matthew 7:13-14 reads as follows:
13. Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that
leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
14. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Matthew 7:22-23 reads as follows:
22. Many will say to Me on that day, "Lord, Lord,
did we not prophesy in Your name,
and in Your name cast out demons, and
in Your name perform many miracles?
23. And then I will declare to them,
'I never knew you;
DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'
