Fall may the rain
On days of gray,
Dark may be the steps
On my way,
Heavy may be my heart
When it is tried,
Yet always You are here
Right by my side.
When I look at You,
When You I see,
Suddenly sweet joy
Envelops me,
Suddenly the sky
Is bright and blue,
Suddenly the day
Is beautiful and new,
Suddenly my hope
Is restored,
A rainbow shines
Where rain had poured.
Yes, Jesus, upon You
I set my gaze,
You are my joy
Now and always,
You are the song
Playing eternally,
You are everything
So lovely to me,
You are my Friend
Always by my side,
Pulling me closer
As the moon does her tide.
So fall may the rain
On days of gray..
But You are the sunshine
Of my every day!
