Bountiful Feast Of Blessing

Everything is so special this time of year
Hearts are filled with love and good cheer
Families gather to enjoy the holidays
Heads bowed, giving God praise

On Thanksgiving Day they enjoy a feast
Seated around the table appetites released
They all look over their bountiful spread
The turkey is carved, please pass the bread

Sweet potatoes, casseroles, and beans
Corn, salads, dressing, gotta loosen our jeans
Rolls, cakes, pumpkin pie and lots of deserts
Some loved ones missing and it really hurts

After dinner they talk, laugh, and reminisce
Just couldn't get to much better than this
They work together to clean up the mess
Then take home some plates of the excess

They hug and kiss and have to say goodbye
They want to be together Christmas and will try
Each now will go to their separate domain
The love and blessings in their hearts remain

It is so wonderful when we can share
With friends and family that we care
For this Thanksgiving, don't drink and drive
We want you to come back safe and alive
