The Bird's Song....

Listen in the forest,
The bird’s song echoes in the trees,
Joyful sounds
Accompanied by the dancing breeze.

Above the heights of branches,
She then soars in her flight,
Silhouette of freedom
In the sun-streaming light.

What is this lovely song?
What is this sound I hear?
Her words are joy and freedom,
To me this is clear.

Though very different,
Much the same are we:
Creations of the Most High,
He who reigns in Majesty.

Listen to her song,
Let her words your heart fill;
She tells a story of God’s love,
Of living in His will.

For who knows well His will,
But the bird who soars?
She dances nigh clouds,
Praising the One she adores.

Let my heart be like hers,
Ever gentle and so free,
Soaring above the heights
To bring our God glory.

More than many sparrows
Is my worth to my King;
Yet glorious graces
To the birds He does bring.

How much more to me
Does He then give?
Indeed His very life He gave
That I may live.

He lavishes the birds
With provision and power;
Worry not do they,
Needing not toil nor scour.

So as I listen in the forest,
The bird’s song echoes in the trees,
I join her song of Jesus,
We long His heart to please.

Purposeful Pathway

Yea, the sparrow hath found an house,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young,
even thine altars,
O Lord of hosts,
my King, and my God.
Psalm 84:3 (KJV)
