Chrissies have an Autumn message
With their color, shape and hue
These ones speak so warmly
Reminding me of you
For as I gaze upon God's flowers
In their apointed place
I see beauty in the starkness
Intricate, like lace
Bright and golden centres
Friendly butterflies they bring
Overflowing pollen
For bees to snuggle in
And the little buds are presents
A special gift all wrapped-
To wonder what's inside
Those tender little flaps
Pink chrissies are a favorite
Their petals tiny, sweet
By standing tall together
The color's more complete
Autumn flowers are like velvet
Where gingerly we tread
And whisper very softly
Every word that's said
They are so familiar
In their worn and homely tub
But that's just how we like
The memory of love
Yes, the daisy shape so normal
But, oh so hardy, tough
They bloom when all is barren
To tell us of God's love
Oh, these chrissies aren't exotic
But common isn't bad
Ordinary comfort
Will always make us glad
For a little bloom so golden-
What to us it brings
But a bit of heaven's glory
To make our spirit sing
Yes, these flowers share a mesage
By their Autumn color, hue
Speaking, oh so warmly
Reminding me of you.
