There's a little cosy bed
Set up just for you,
It's in my general ward
Painted such a gentle hue,
Go on past the register
And ring the bell quite near the door,
For those who need me more.

I'll don my nursing habit
Then plump up all the pillows,
The sun will shine warm on your bay
And I will nurse your heart all day.

You'll have no need to worry
About the pets and cooking tea,
Or picking up the children
For you see, God will see
That all these needs will be met
In their entirety.

Just lay back now, relax
Read and rest and gently weep,
I'll bring you tea in bed
While you have a dreamy sleep.
