Would you cherish tender words
If harsh tones had never hurt,
Would you long for gentleness
If your soul had not been burnt.

Would you long for sweeter things
If the path had not gone sour,
Would you crave for love that's true
If you'd never had to cower.

Would you see with eyes that care
If no night had passed alone,
Would you know of barren souls
If you hadn't lost your own.

Would you reach out loving hands
If you hadn't lost your song
Could you see cold hungry eyes
If you hadn't seen what's wrong.

Would you seek for heaven's joy
If you'd never been bereft,
Would you crave to know of God
If there wasn't any death.

Would you search for childlike faith
If all hope had never frayed,
Would you look to see beyond
If youth was here to stay.

Would you need forever love
If you hadn't shed a tear,
Would you search until you found
If eternal life was here.

Oh Great Spirit, God of heaven, whose voice I hear
in the wind and whose breath gives life
to all the world....hear my prayer.
Let me walk in beauty, through all my days
make my eyes see sunrise freshness..and sunset glory.
Make my hands respect the things You have made
and my ear sharp to hear Your voice.
I am small and weak, I need Your strength...and wisdom.
make me wise...that I may learn
the lessons You teach my people
the lessons You have hidden-
for those who search, to know.
