Your Golden Life
Like a twirling golden leaf you may feel
Life is falling, whirling downward in the breeze,
But then God says, pause now
I love you, look up here to Me.
For there are so very many special gifts
That come as joys with age,
Too numerous to count them all
And some you're yet to guage.
So, let me take you through a few
To bless your heart this day,
For wisdom's shouting from the mountaintop
In all you do and say.
You would never know the many times
You have touched a lonely heart,
A hand you held, a thoughtful word
To help them on life's path.
Your life gave birth to those you love
Youth bore for you their gift,
Now they give back to community
By all you taught to live.
Being Mother, friend, Grandma, aunt
With love, you have lived every name,
By glowing as you truly are
With compassion as your flame.
And oh, the many handy hints
You have gleaned along the way,
By gladly pitching in to work and help
In every craft and trade.
Then there's all the thoughtful insights
You have gathered through the years,
Trusting God o'er hill and vale
To conquer every fear.
You've journeyed well through earth's disasters
Economies and governments,
And by seeking God's grace every day
On Him you could depend.
In close relationship with God
You gathered gems of priceless worth,
Now as monarch over all you've gained
You reign in all you've learnt.
Young ones now glean at your feet
To understand all that you know,
Listen to the many tests of faith
Where you knew you weren't alone.
It's your time to share God's precious wonders,
After years of whispering on life's path,
For your heart is overflowing now
With the beauty of His heart.

One generation will commend your works to another;
