A child of God
Forever I am,
Not by my own doing
But by blood of the Lamb.
Praise be to Jesus
For setting me free;
His inheritance in heaven
He shares with me.
Who can explain this?
Who can understand?
Behold His thorny crown,
His pierced hand -
That I may know Him
Jesus suffered these;
Only His sacrifice
Could the Father please.
His Cross is the bridge
To my home above;
The stairway of heaven
Is paved with His love.
I am His daughter,
Yea, I am His child;
May I be like my Father,
Holy, pure and mild.
I live for my Jesus,
I praise Him forevermore;
I offer all to Him,
The One I adore.
For not by my doing,
But by blood of the Lamb,
A child of God
Forever I am.
