Oh, let's be friends and walk today
This special path, close, far away,
Beneath the branch of flowering tree
Where all God's glory we will see.

There we will chat the longest awhile
And watch each other's playful smile,
And hear the pretty lamb's sweet cry
Their love of playful, sheer delight.



Yes, you and I, who like to meet
Will wander there to rustic seat,
Where soft grass grows, so lush and green
And fragrant beauty is believed.

Oh, there, beside us on a limb
There'll land a lark to preen and sing,
To bring to us a message sweet,
From heaven, oh my such a treat.



The bubbling creek will gurgle by
As we'll so very gently sigh,
Slip off our shoes to dangle them
Within the cool of forest glen.

The butterflies of crystal wing
Will cause our hearts to ache to sing,
The wind so soft, upon our hair
Will have us pray for every care.



And as bright daylight drifts away
In silhouette, will set the day,
But, glad we'll be that we could talk
Along this path God had us walk.
