I went into the woods today
Where pretty violets grow,
To find tucked in the mossy glen
Purple, for I know.



Purple, mauve and lavender
Your favorites to view,
Fragrant foxglove lilac
All for the heart of you.



Gifts from God's own garden
Fashioned by His heart,
What greater gift could I
To you my dear, impart.



Viola, orchid, fuchsia
Royal amethyst I send,
For a princess kind and sweet,
For my very special friend.
