My Lord and My God,
It transcends thought of mind
To marvel how You
Became one of mankind.

Though Creator of all,
Though Beginning and End,
One of us You became
For our hearts to mend.

You laughed with us freely,
Yet You wept also too,
Deepest suffering of humanity
Your Sacred Heart knew.

So with a grateful heart,
With endless adoration,
I thank You, sweet Jesus,
For loving me, Your creation.

When I smile and laugh,
You smile and laugh with me;
When tears fall from my eyes,
Tears in Your eyes I see.

Yea, everything I feel
You have felt all the more so;
Who better then to pave
This pathway that I go?

So to Your hand, Lord,
I will always cling;
I rejoice in rich blessings
That to me You bring.
