Are you always rushing to and fro
Tearing this way and that,
Moving in a constant flurry
Your accelerator flat.

Are you straining, overtired
Frayed about the edge,
Feeling overdone and burdened
And going round the bend.



Stop! Says the Controller
Stop now the traffic flow,
Pause and take a big long breath
You do not need go-go.

Stop! Re-evaluate this day
Consider where you are,
What is really most important
For your good of heart.



Think, if you were diagnosed
With a disabling disease,
What would be the changes
That you would need to seize.

Then see if you can live them
As you bend to smell a rose today,
And choose a new life story
One that can be your stay.



Stop! Do the things that matter
In the light of eternity,
As Jesus holds His hand to you
Let His Spirit set you free.

Stop! Ask Him now for guidance
To create your life anew,
Then form a fresh routine
That will mold a peaceful you.



Stop! Churn no more this moment
About where it's all to end,
Just rest and trust the Saviour
